A tax-deductible 2 day professional development training
An inclusive training program for complementary and alternative medicine practitioners - designed to resource you with trauma-aware knowledge and skills to inform safer therapeutic relationships and embody a person-centred framework.
This training is particularly for the folks that feel as though their training gave them the skills to offer a service or product, but did not necessarily explore the diverse ways in which trauma can uniquely effect individuals and in turn, impact our approach as practitioners.
Your facilitator, Jacqui, is passionate about our shared responsibility in creating well-considered, conscious therapeutic spaces led by compassionate facilitators and therapists.
What exactly will we cover?
A contemporary understanding of the types of trauma
Trauma, the body and the subconscious
Trauma, core beliefs and identity
Cultivating safe relationship
Transparency and moving toward trust
Embodied person-centred care
Restoring self-determination and agency
Trauma and the use of language in a therapeutic setting
Understanding the window of tolerance - by Dr. Daniel Siegal
Responding to triggers
Cultivating places of safety internally and externally
Building towards an interoceptive experience
Environmental factors & adjustments
Resourcing techniques for somatic self-regulation
Internal Family Systems (IFS) and trauma processing
Understanding inner conflict and it’s relationship to trauma processing
This training is not intended as an intervention for those who have experienced trauma. This is an educational setting and Jacqui will provide one on one private space for those who request it, and will provide an extensive referral list in the event participants wish to explore personal work.
