so, why therapy of the subconscious?
Neuroscience has estimated that 95% of our moment to moment lived experience is derived from our subconscious patterns - particularly relating to our beliefs, thoughts, behaviours and perceptions.
Hypnotherapy is a direct way of utilising gentle altered states of consciousness to access your subconscious mind.
Jacqui’s approach is compassion-based and rooted in a contemporary understanding of trauma. Therefore you wont be asked to re-tell/relive your story over and over again, like you might in a traditional talk therapy setting. By supporting you into a deeply restful state, Jacqui will guide you to engage your subconscious mind to process and re-wire difficult experiences. Going beyond trauma, this approach has the capacity to support you in developing new neural pathways for supportive states of being.
As a trauma-informed therapist Jacqui’s approach is unique to every individual and priortises your safety. You won’t be rushed into anything, and she will explain every step along the way. Her offerings are predominantly influenced by research and teachings of Gabor Matè, Peter Levine, Tara Brach, Bessel Van Der Kolk and Richard Schwartz.

STEP 4. After your session, Jacqui will email you any personalised resources / tools / hypnotic tracks discussed for your use between our sessions (this is all optional and is designed to support the work we do in session).
why does jacqui encourage rounds of hypnotherapy?
Neurons that fire together, wire together and neural pathways develop and get stronger with repetition.
Like all forms of therapy we will require time and tenderness in our process - a minimum of four sessions is generally recommended (one round). The structure commonly looks like one session per week for a period of time that feels aligned with whatever it is we are working on. As we progress we may stagger out your sessions to fortnightly or monthly. If for any reason after your first session you don’t feel its the right space for you, you are in no way obligated to continue with the ‘round’. This idea is to create a therapeutic container for our work together, instil the message that therapy is a process and to provide a cyclical essence to what we do.
